| Project Name: | ||||
| An Environment friendly Oil Binder based on Leaves | ||||

| Project to Summarize: | ||||
| Every year in autumn, the building yards are facing the same problem all over Germany: Trees in cities loose their leaves. Building yards send out persons, who have to pick up the leaves and deploy them on c compost heaps. The heaps also have to be flipped from time to time, so that all the organic waste can be turned into garden mould. The whole process costs the communities a lot of money and time. But nobody really needs the produced mould. So the building yards have high spending, but can’t profit from it. We wanted to change this very inefficient circumstance. Through analysing the physical and chemical characteristics of foliage, we developed an efficient, cheap and environment friendly oil binder based on it. An oil binder is a material that is used to save the environment/ground water from leaking oil or fuel. Normally, these oil binders are made of turf or synthetics and are not environment friendly. In contrast to such oil binders, our product is ecologically friendly and is as same as effective than the competition but is even cheaper. To make sure that our invention can be really used by building yards, we developed a realistic production process, based on simple machines, every building yard has in stock. We successfully produced three tons of our oil binder and distributed them to the fire brigade, the building yards and gas stations in our hometown. Our hometown Metzingen fights leakin | ||||
