Biological indicators of watershed health in Sitnica river While most water quality analysis and standards focus on chemical data, these measures only reflect the conditions at the moment the sample is taken from Sitnica river. Macro-invertebrate organisms, however, possess a life cycle of at least one year or more, do not move great distances, and are more or less confined to the area of stream being sampled. Therefore, their diversity and populations exhibit the long –range effects of waste effluents to the aquatic environment. The macro-invertebrate community of a stream lives with the stresses and changes that occur in the aquatic environment. Biological indicator is a sign or signal that relays a complex message, potentially from numerous sources, in simplified and useful manner. An ecological indicator is defined here as a measure, an index of a measures, or a model that characterizes an ecosystem or one of its critical components. Evaluating the health of a body of water through the use of biological indicators is called biological assessment. Sitnica deresindeki makro omurgasizlari biyolojik belirleyici olarak kullanarak sularin kirliligini arastirmak. Bir cok su ornegi analizi standartlara gore alinan su orneklerinin kimyasal yapisi ve olcumlere gore yapilir. Sitnica deresindeki makro omurgasizlari kullanarak son yillardaki suyun kirliligi orada yasayan canlilarin cesitlerine gore anlasilmaktadir.Cesitlilik ve populasyonlar su hayatinin nasil oldugu hakkinda bize acikca bilgi vermektedir. Cunku suyun kirliligine gore yasayan canlilar degismektedir. Ya hassas olup olenler ya degisip o sartlara uyum saglayanlar ya da her kosulda yasayanlar diye gruplara ayrildi. Biyolojik belirleme bir sinyal veya komleks bir mesaj olarak algilandi. Bu proje icin toplanilan canlilar projeyle sunulacak ve diger ulke katilimcilarina en kotu sartlarda yasayabilen canli ornekleri gosterilecek ve hangi ortamda hangi canlilarin yasadigi gosterilip herkesin kendi ulkesinde de kotu sartlari, kirlenmis dereleri nasil dogal hayata cevirebilirizi gostermek asil amacimiz olacaktir.
